Walking Girl

Look out world, Macy is walking! She is still getting the hang of it, but the girl can now take off across the room. She’s been walking for about a week, but this is the first time that we got it on video. Her parents get so excited when she does it that she usually sits down because she is startled by all of the commotion. We are VERY proud of her. Too darn cute.

Cathye’s 60th: Fishing

I am WAY behind in blog posts so rather then try to tackle the daunting pile all at once I have decided to break it down into smaller bites. We had a wonderful, week-long trip to Port Aransas for Cathye’s 60th birthdays. One of the best parts of the trip was all of the fresh fish that we ate. We know it was fresh because we caught it ourselves! Of course, the all girls trip caught the most fish… (Abbi, Cathye, Linda, & Laura), and like always, Abbi outfished her husband and caught the MUCH bigger fish. Some things never change!

The First Swim

We are a little behind schedule around here, but at long last here are the pictures of Macy’s first swim. She loves splashing in the tub so much that we knew she would like the pool, but this chick is pool crazy! The Moores were kind enough to invite us to the pool at Rivercrest so Macy got to learn from a pool veteran in Brennan. Our little pool girl had a blast, and we can’t wait to go back.

The First Sickness

Our goal was for Macy to make it to 6 months old without getting sick. On Monday, she turned the big 1/2!… and then got sick on Tuesday. Poor little thing had a fever, snotty nose, vomiting, etc. but was still pretty pleasant all things considered. Here she is getting some much needed rest on the porch with her dad. I’m happy to report that she feels much better just in time for Mimi & Papi to visit this weekend!

Ready For Her Closeup

Macy had her newborn photo shoot, and as you can see, she did a geat job! She was zonked out for the entire two hour shoot so we could dress her up and pose her every which way—again as you can see. We are thrilled with how these pictures turned out, and we hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we do!

Adding one last item to the list of events that Macy attended in utero, Abbi was a trooper and made it out to the annual Steeplechase Deb Ball—in heels no less. We had a great time and got to spend a lot of time with our good friends, George & Christina, who live in Houston. We certainly got our money’s worth out of that breakfast buffet!

Grand Lake, CO

Just got back from a wonderful weekend at Annie & Brad’s wedding in Grand Lake, CO. As you can see, not only was it an incredibly beautiful setting but no detail was left undone. It was a truly great event. Needless to say, the weather was a bit nicer than back in FW too… Also got to see a bunch of the old college gang and even a moose! More on that later.

Telluride, CO

Better late than never… at long last here our some non-food pics of our fantastic trip to Telluride. We went with our good friends, Lisa & Ryan, and had an awesome time. The picture of us on the slopes with me on the left and the picture of the four of us were taken at the top of Telluride’s trademark run, See Forever. As you can see, it really lives up to its name, and we caught it at a perfect time of the morning. The picture on the slopes with me on the right is at the very top of the mountain (almost 14,000 ft up) which was WAY up there and a new personal record for elevation. It really was a great trip, and we can’t wait to go back.

McMahon & Me

I was lucky enough to go to the Davey O’Brien Award ceremony last night and even luckier to get a picture with Bears great Jim McMahon. He’s my new favorite, non-Buc of all time.

My mustache was a one day prolonging of my pirate beard. Abbi has since mandated its removal.

The second picture (from left to right) are my friends Todd, Ryan, and Bill.

Khaki & Me

Our Tampa neighbor and 6th family member, Paige, was nice enough to send over a picture of 6 DAY OLD Khaki and me from Christmas. She looks like I just picked her up from Toys ‘R Us. She was quite precious, and I was very thankful that Paige was game enough to bring her out to see us so soon. Thanks for sending, Paige!
